Naval is a big tree grows in all climate conditions of India. Naval Kottai collected from those tree fruits dried well, ground into very fine powder and then filtered to make it free from unground particles. It is being used by our ancestors to make Siddha and Ayurveda medicines since ancient days. 

Naval Seeds are called as Black Plum in English, Jamun or Jambul in Hindi, Neradu Chettu in Telugu, Perinneral in Malayalam, Nerale in Kannada. Its Botanical Name is Eugenia Jumbolana.
