Elumbu Otti Ilai also called as Bone Joint Leaves is a shrub plant grows in hills and forest areas only. Its leaves are very thin and weight less in nature. It is a flowering plant and its leaves are being used by our ancestors since ancient days. Those leaves are dried well, ground into very fine powder and then filtered to make it free from unground fibres.
It is called as Bone Joint in English, Murikooti Pacha in Malayalam, Dudhiya Choti in Hindi. Its Botanical names are Blepharis Maderaspatensis, Ormocarpum Cochinchinense
