Arugampul is a small grass that grows in all cropfields and in roadsides in India. Arugampul is collected, cleaned well, dried and ground into very fine powder. The Powder is then filtered to make it free from unground grass particles. It is being used by our ancient Siddhars since ancient days as a ingredients in Medicines and also for Pooja Purposes.

Its other names in Tamil are Arugu, Padham, Moothandam, Thoorvai, Megari. It is called as Bermuda Grass in English, Durva Grass in Sanskrit, Dobri in Hindi, Karukkapulla in Malayalam, Garika in Telugu, Garike in Kannada, and its botanical name is Cynodon Dactylon.
