Kandankathiri is a small plant grows in dry lands and almost all climate conditions of India. Its fruits are collected, dried well and available online as raw material. It is being used by our ancestors as a food item along with our daily use vegetables.
It is called as Wild Eggs in English, Badi Kateri or Kateli in Hindi, Nelagulla or Chikchundi in Kannada, Vellottu Vazhuthina in Malayalam, Vakudu or Nela Mulaka in Telugu. Its Botanical Name is Solanum Surattense or Solanam Jacquini.
