Karumanjal also called as Black Turmeric in English is a variety of Turmeric. It grows in hill stations like Himalayas and in Western Ghats. It is cut into small pieces, dried well, ground into very fine powder and then filtered to make it free from unground particles.
It is used as Pooja item to increase positive vibrations in our House. It is also used while doing Homam in our House and in Temples.
It is called as Kali Haldi in Hindi, Naru Kachora in Malayalam, Karimanjal in Telugu, Kariarishina in Kannada. Its Botanical Name is Curcuma Caesia.
