Jathikkai is a small plant orginated from Malaysia, and Indonesian Islands. It is now grows in hill stations of India also. Its fruit called as Jathikkai is used by people as a condiments along with food to increase taste and odour. Jathikkai is dried well and available online as raw material. It is also being used by our ancestors since thousands of years ago.

It is called as Nugmeg in English, Jatiphal in Hindi, Jaikkaya in Telugu and in Malayalam, Jaikayi in Kannada. Its Botanical Name is Myristica Fragrans and Myristica Officinalis.
