Maa in Tamil or Mango in English is well known because of its fruits. Mamparuppu is nothing but the Kernel of Mango Seeds. After removing shells, those kernels are dried well and available as raw material. It is being used by our ancestors for various purposes since long long ago. 

It is called as Mango in English, Aam in Hindi, Mamidi in Telugu, Mangga in Malayalam, Mavu in Kannada, Keri in Gujarathi. Its Botanical Name is Mangifera Indica.
