Manjista also called as Indian Madder in English is a creeper plant grows in Himalayan Hills and in Nilgiris. Manjistha stems and roots are dried well and ground into very fine powder. It is then filtered to make it free from unground particles.It is being used by our people since ancient days for various purposes. Currently people use it as a skin care item.

It is called as Manjitti in Tamil and Malayalam, Indian Madder in English, Manjistha is almost all other Indian Languages. Rubia Cordifolia is its Botanical Name.
