Arappu is classified into two types as Usilai Arappu and Iluppai Arapp. Usilai Arappu is the leaves of Usilai Tree. Usilai leaves are dried well and ground into very fine powder. It is being used by our people as a natural hair cleanser since ancient days.

It is called as Krishna Siris in Hindi, Nallarenga or Shikareni in Telugu, Nanmeni vaka in Malayalam, Bilkambi in Kannada. Its Botanical Names are Mimosa Amara and Albizia Amara. Instead of Usilai Arappu, Iluppai Arappu which is the residue while extracting Iluppai Oil is also being used by our people as hair cleanser.
