Kattukodi is classified into Siru Kattukodi and Peru Kattukodi. Siru Kattukodi available online as fresh undried leaves along with stems. Its leaves extract has the capacity to thicken the water as Jelly. It has been used for the following purpose.

1. It can be used to treat Painful Urination.

2. It is good in reducing Body heat. and acts as a Body Coolant.

3. It can be used to control Vadha Dosha.
